If you are a proud owner of an iPhone or iPod touch you are now able to make calls for free to anyone in USA using your Wi-Fi or 3G connection. Apple has approved Whistle Phone application and thus can be downloaded on your device from App Store. You need to create an account with them and then you are all set to make free calls.

There will be an ad of around 15 seconds before any of your calls get connected but that is how they are able to support free calling anywhere in USA. If you do not want to listen to ads before making calls you need to have some balance in your Whistle Phone account.

Another analogy to this is iCall which lets you make 5 minutes long calls after an ad of 30 seconds before your call. Whistle Phone stands better than iCall too because the ad duration is less and the call will not get disconnected after 5 minutes.
